Langkawi Snorkelling: Payar, Dangli or Beras Basah?
Langkawi snorkelling tours can visit Pulau Payar, Pulau Dangli or Pulau Beras Basah. These are different places, with different trip priorities. Start with how much of your day you want to spend snorkelling, then compare the price and inclusions.

Which trip fits your plans?
- A day focused on snorkelling: Pulau Payar. The current snorkelling package includes two sessions. Intro and certified scuba-diving packages are separate options.
- Mangrove sightseeing plus snorkelling: Tanjung Rhu Series C. Snorkel at Pulau Dangli, with equipment and a simple meal included, but no guide.
- Island visits, fishing and a snorkelling stop: Premium 5-in-1 island hopping. The itinerary allows about 40 minutes at Pulau Beras Basah for snorkelling, alongside Dayang Bunting, eagle watching, fishing and BBQ lunch.
This comparison covers the specific packages sold by Astralis Escape. Other operators may use similar names for different inclusions.
Compare prices and trip length
- Pulau Payar snorkelling: RM 330 adult; RM 280 child, ages 7–11. Check in at 8:30 AM, depart around 9:00 AM and return to the Langkawi jetty at an estimated 5:30 PM. Cenang and Kuah return hotel transfers are optional extras.
- Dangli Series C: RM 130 adult; RM 110 child, ages 4–11. Includes snorkelling equipment and a simple meal, without hotel transfer; about four hours. The return-transfer version is RM 170 adult or RM 150 child, with a listed total duration of about six hours. Confirm hotel coverage, pickup and departure times.
- Premium 5-in-1 island hopping: RM 150 adult; RM 130 child, ages 4–11. Check in at 9:10 AM, depart at 9:30 AM and return at an estimated 2:30 PM. Hotel transfer and Dayang Bunting admission are not included.
Per-person prices checked on 11 October 2026. Total trip length includes boat travel, other stops or transfers; it is not time spent snorkelling. Dates and availability need confirmation.
Pulau Payar: make snorkelling or diving the main activity
The snorkelling package includes two sessions, equipment, return boat travel, a Chinese- and English-speaking guide and a light lunch. Allow a full day.
The current package is suitable from age 7. Intro diving starts at age 10, subject to participation requirements. Payar is a separate trip, not a stop on the mangrove or regular island-hopping routes.
Current trips do not operate on Tuesdays or Wednesdays, or during March, April and May. The estimated return is later than sunset-cruise check-in, so use separate days.

Pulau Dangli: combine mangroves with snorkelling
Tanjung Rhu Series C combines the mangrove route with snorkelling at Dangli. Equipment and a simple meal are included. Choose the version with or without return hotel transfer; neither C package includes a guide. Bat Cave admission is extra: RM 2 adult or RM 1 child.
A mangrove-tour name or a Dangli stop does not prove snorkelling is included. Series A and B do not include it. The separately listed English-guided shared tours mention a tide-dependent Dangli stop or fish feeding, rather than snorkelling. Check for an explicit equipment-and-snorkelling inclusion.

Pulau Beras Basah: snorkelling within an island-hopping day
Premium 5-in-1 includes a snorkelling mask and disposable mouthpiece, a Chinese- and English-speaking guide and BBQ lunch. Choose it if you also want island visits and fishing.
The listed snorkelling stop is about 40 minutes; timing and order can change. The 3-in-1 and 4-in-1 packages do not include snorkelling equipment. Beach time at Beras Basah is not the same inclusion. Dayang Bunting also involves walking and steps.

Visibility, children and non-swimmers
No location has guaranteed clear water every day. Weather, tides and sea conditions affect visibility; photographs do not promise the same underwater view on your trip.
A child-fare age band is a pricing rule, not approval to enter the water. Payar's current minimum is 7. Although the other two list fares for ages 4–11, confirm the child's age, height, swimming ability and equipment fit before booking.
Non-swimmers and families should check life jackets, the entry area and available assistance. Series C has no guide, and a guide listed elsewhere does not mean one-to-one in-water supervision. If nobody wants to snorkel, compare a basic mangrove tour or 3-in-1 island hopping instead.
