Mangrove Night Safari

Common questions

Should I choose a shared boat, private charter or kayak?

Choose a shared boat for per-person pricing alongside other guests. Choose a private charter for a boat used by your group, priced by route, duration and passenger band.
Choose kayaking if you want to paddle yourself and have the basic fitness and mobility it requires.
For the mangroves after sunset, consider the night safari. Sunset views and “blue tears” depend on weather, tides and water conditions and cannot be guaranteed.

Why do mangrove shared tours have different prices and inclusions?

Compare the guide, meals, transfers and route as well as the price. In the Tanjung Rhu A/B/C range, A includes a guide; B and C do not. Check other packages individually.
Meals and transfers are included only where listed; included meals are halal. Stops such as Bat Cave, Crocodile Cave, eagle watching and Dangli snorkelling follow your chosen route.
Packages visiting Bat Cave still list its admission separately: RM2 per adult and RM1 per child. Child age bands can also differ, so check ages and fares against the specific package.

Are Tanjung Rhu and Kilim the same meeting point, and how much time should I allow?

No. They have different departure points and routes; the meeting jetties are not interchangeable.
Tanjung Rhu private charters offer 2–4 hour routes, and Kilim private charters offer 1–4 hour packages. Shared tours take approximately 2.5–6 hours; morning kayaking takes about four hours, while the afternoon session runs from 4:30 PM until sunset. Night safaris take around four hours.
Use the jetty, transfer and timing details in your package and confirmation, rather than navigating to a general “mangrove” map result.

Can I kayak if I cannot swim, and will a guide lead the trip?

Swimming ability is not required for this kayaking activity, but basic fitness and mobility are needed. Life jackets are provided and a licensed English-speaking nature guide leads the trip.
Morning and afternoon packages differ in meals, transfers and timings. Select the specific package, and explain any mobility or health concerns before booking.

Will rain cancel the tour? Can I cancel my private boat because of rain?

Tours generally run in rain, with arrangements adjusted for weather, sea conditions and tides.
If the operator cancels, rescheduling or a refund is available. If the trip runs and you cancel, the cancellation policy applies to shared tours and private charters alike; rain does not automatically make cancellation free.

Do private charters and shared tours have the same cancellation deadline?

Yes. Cancel at least 72 hours before departure for a full refund; this also applies to private charters.
Cancellations with less than 72 hours' notice, late arrivals and no-shows are non-refundable. Request a date change through WhatsApp or WeChat; it requires availability and confirmation by the advisor and operator.
